Jellyfish may be pretty to look at but being stung by one may be one of the most painful scenario one can encounter. It can even be life threatening due to occasional severe allergic reactions from their poisonous tentacles. So the next time you find yourself frolicking in the beach, best to have these simple tips in the back of your mind just to be safe.

In the event of a Jellyfish sting, do the following:
 
Step 1: Get out of the water.
 
Jellyfish stings cause extreme pain and discomfort. It is best to help the victim out of the water to prevent further accidents like drowning and/or getting...

This came out during the June 2010 boards and I didn't know how to answer them! :P I always meant to read up and see if my answers were correct (I just remember the vinegar part).

Haha I remember! And I'm pretty sure I got the answer wrong on that one. Stupid misleading beach movies! Lol. I was then told that all the answers on the First Aid part of the test were included the Red Cross Handbook which, regrettably, I got to read too late on the BLS/First Aid training.

If you used to watch FRIENDS, there was an episode where Joey peed on Monica's leg because she got stung by a jellyfish. :) I remembered that episode and thought, "Acidic?" so took a chance with vinegar. ;)

I think my mindset was like "Where the heck are they going to find vinegar in the middle of the beach / sea??" and urine was more or less available anywhere haha. My mind was in knots that day.
